After taking over the theatres and OTT platforms, South superstar Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 has now made its mark on TV. And it seems netizens just can not seem to keep their excitement in check.
Pushpa 2 The Rule, the Hindi version of one of the India’s biggest hits, made its world TV premiere on Zee Cinema on May 31 at 7:30 pm. Directed by Sukumar the film is a follow-up to Pushpa: The Rise (2021). Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj a daily wage worker who rises to dominate the ruthless red sandalwood smuggling business. This new chapter shifts focus from his early struggles to his fight for control, power and creating a lasting legacy.
Pushpa 2: The Rule sees Rashmika Mandanna return as Srivalli now Pushpa’s wife. As Pushpa gains power tensions rise with her stepbrother Moleti Mohan Rao (Ajay) and his rival police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil). The film mixes intense family drama, action, and emotion. Directed by Sukumar and written by Srikanth Vissa, it features Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, and Rao Ramesh. Released in theatres on December 5, 2024 it hit OTT in January 2025.
Record-Breaking Box Office Success
Pushpa 2: The Rule shattered box office recordsgrossing a staggering 1,871 crores worldwide. This made it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024 and the second-highest-grossing Indian film of all time, trailing only Dangal. It even surpassed the monumental success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion becoming the first Indian film to reach such massive numbers post-pandemic.
