The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the much-awaited SSC CHSL 2025 notification today, June 23. If you’re aiming for a stable government job in India’s central departments, this is your chance.
The online application process for SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) exam has begun on ssc.gov.in, and the last date to apply is August 1, 2025.
Posts Available Under SSC CHSL 2025
Candidates will be recruited for the following positions across various central government ministries and departments:
- Postal Assistant (PA)
- Sorting Assistant (SA)
- Lower Division Clerk (LDC)
- Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
- Data Entry Operator (DEO)
Although the official vacancy count hasn’t been released yet, based on past trends, over 4000–5000 positions are expected this year. In comparison, 3712 vacancies were filled in 2024, and over 4500 in 2023.

SSC CHSL 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the following eligibility requirements:
1. Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed 12th standard (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- For some DEO posts, Mathematics may be a mandatory subject.
2. Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 27 years
- Age relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwD: 10 years
3. Nationality:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Nationals of Nepal, Bhutan, and a few other categories may also be eligible under specific conditions.
SSC CHSL 2025 Selection Process
The SSC CHSL exam is conducted in two tiers:
Tier-1: Online Objective Test (MCQs)
- Subjects: General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness
- Duration: 1 hour
- Total Marks: 100
- Negative Marking: Yes (0.50 marks per wrong answer)
Tier-2: Typing/Skill Test
- Candidates clearing Tier-1 are shortlisted for a typing test (for LDC/JSA) or a data entry skill test (for DEO).
- This is a qualifying stage and does not carry marks for final merit.
The final selection will be based solely on Tier-1 scores.
